Nuestra queja cambio las reglas de FISM

As you know, last FISM (Federacion Internacional de Sociedades Magicas) gave one of the World Championship Awards to Sittah from Holland ...later on we discover that after she ripped us up our original effect "The Spears" she got into the competition and she won.

Our claim was presented to the commitee of FISM and to the president Eric Eswin.
Took almost a year for this situation to resolve...for few months they discussed the idea to remove the award from her but NOTHING was mention about this kind of infrigement on the FISM rules.

For next FISM in Beijing the rules now changed and mention the situation of copyright infringement, violation of copying routines, acts or presentations on FISM contests.
For all of this, Tanya and I feel kind of proud, our endavours resulted to a change on the regulations for first time in many years.

Thanks to Erick Eswin, Domenico Dante and the all FISM organization for facing the truth about this matter that has been affected so many creators, artists and magicians through the years but until now...something was done !

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

FISM™ announces adapted contest rules for
the World Championships of Magic™ 2009

London, 19 December 2008 - Seven months away from the FISM World Championships of Magic™ 2009 in Beijing, FISM™ has officially announced adapted contest rules and procedures.
The contest rules play an integral part of the event’s success. According to the Presidium of the FISM™, they “should guarantee a competition of the highest standard, and should be accepted worldwide and recognized by experts and the general public alike. They should be written in a simple, clear and legally correct way.”Eric Eswin added: “Participating in a FISM World Championships of Magic™ gives contestants the exclusive opportunity to expose their act on a world stage to magicians, enthusiasts, as well as the general public, entertainment agencies and the international media. Contestants cannot get such an exposure easily otherwise. Participating in a FISM World Championships of Magic™ is for sure beneficial to a contestant’s career, but competing at a FISM WCM™ should not be without engagements.”Therefore and in the interest of magic, FISM™ has updated the rules. To better observe the legal rights of magicians and other artists like composers and musicians the main changes concern the property rights and the rights to participate. To read the new rules and procedures, please visit the FISM™ Website.
